The only downfall that I could come up with is that the dimensions make it impossible to have four rows of DVDs to sit up length ways. All I use this for is DVDs and on one of my sheves I must lay the dVDs on their side. I bought it because of the color matches our furniture and that it said it had a key lock because I have a 3 yr. old and 1 yr. old that love to be in the movies which drives me nuts. I got it and saw that it was in a flat box and all I could think was cheap particle board and it's going to be cheap looking and I will want to return it. I'm always nervous buying these things online but as soon as I got it out and put together I think it looks great and really well made. No, it's not something you will probably get from a furniture store but those cost over double the price. The only thing I was disappointed with is that there is nothing to keep it locked as I thought was the implication of the description "w/key lock". So if you are thinking about buying it then don't assume it will actually lock, it only has to metal magnetic pieces that hold the doors shut.
